Captain God Rock: the man, the music, the Martian

Captain God Rock: the man, the music, the Martian

Postby Evil Jim » Thu Jul 15, 2010 4:04 am

Just the other day Dead Last introduced itself to the world by announcing the discovery of a humanoid figure on the surface of Mars & provided the soundtrack to the exciting accompanying video. So far as I know, no band in the history of the world has come to the public eye in such a manner.

So, any thoughts, feelings, speculations on this dude & the tunes he's "shaking his butt" to?

I do see another figure there over to the left there, but it looks a little closer to the stereotypical "grey" alien than a Sheri in the wild.

actually, people have seen quite a few other figures in that image.. not as well defined as Captain God-Rock, but there.. almost like they were having a party or something.

but i think the significant thing about the main figure is that it's complete.. n there r so many elements, like buttons, boots, hair, face, etc, that i dont see how it could possible be an 'accident'

I still haven't seen the buttons but the ridges across his chest definitely makes him look like the 5th member of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band. I'd really like to get a good look at a high-res, non-anaglyph version of that image. The most distinct features are definitely in the face but it's also the smallest part of him. If anyone finds a link please post it here.

since i dance, when i imagine him in motion, i see 'his' right leg starting to cross over his left.. his body is starting to twist as u see the bottom on his right boot

I'm still not seeing them, even after enlarging it & poking around with Paint Shop. They're some of the more subjective details. Unlike the face, which appears very much like a face.

u can take it up with Stone :gl:
choosing the music 4 the video was a trip.. our short list was narrowed down to 55 songs.. then eventually to 10.. mostly cause of utube's 10 minute time limit
